Christmas Belly

We can't wait to celebrate Christmas with our little one next year! Wir koennen es kaum erwarten, Weihnachten im naechsten Jahr mit unserem kleinen Mann zu feiern!

Week 20

December 21st, 2013 How far along: 20 weeks…we’re half way through this pregnancy!!! Baby is the size of a: Banana Total weight gain: According to the doctor’s scale, 15lbs. Maternity Clothes? Getting more and more uncomfortable in my regular jeans. Stretch Marks? Not yet. Sleep? I’m back to going to the bathroom at least once a night. Other than that, I can’t complain. Best moment of the Week: So many! 1. My mom booked her flight to be here for the birth of our little one, it will be the first time since I’ve moved to the US that she is visiting me and I can’t wait! 2. Katie’s family spent all weekend at our house to finish painting the nursery, putting up the decals and to set up the crib. The rest of the furniture will be set up this week and I couldn’t be more excited! Katie’s mom has gone above and beyond to make sure our little guy has the perfect nursery and I’m so grateful for everything she has done for us! 3. I received s...

Week 19

December 14th, 2013 How far along: 19 weeks Baby is the size of a: Mango Total weight gain: Still haven’t weighed myself, because our scale broke. I will find out at our appointment next week! Maternity Clothes? Nothing new. Stretch Marks? Not yet. Sleep? Still pretty good. I’m having weird dreams though! Best moment of the Week: Our friends gave us the exact bedding we wanted for the nursery, which was way out of our budget. They bought it for one of their sons who never slept in his crib, so it’s basically brand new! So sweet of them! We also set a date for our baby shower and picked out some invitations…it’s crazy how fast this time is flying by! And even more crazy that we’ll have a baby shower…I never thought we would get there! Movement: I’ve been feeling all kinds of weird things in there, but I can’t tell if it’s the baby or not, so for now, I’m still waiting! Food Cravings: None. Belly Button in or out: In. ...

Growing a miracle

I was just looking back at all of our ultrasound pictures from the last few months and it's just crazy how fast our baby went from a cell to a real baby that's covering his eyes every time we try to get a look at him!  We have the most amazing doctor. Even though we only pre-paid for two ultrasounds for the entire pregnancy (my insurance doesn't cover anything pregnancy related, so everything is out of pocket), he is doing one every single time we see him, without charging us.  Here's a glimpse of our growing boy!  This is my favorite picture of them all, because not many people get a picture like this.  It's our 5-day old embryo, right before he was placed back into the mothership on August 22nd!  I remember looking at this picture many times it the days that followed, not knowing if it would stick and praying that it would. Modern Medicine is amazing! Ich habe mir gerade all unsere Ultraschallbilder von den letzten Monaten angeschaut und es is...

Week 18

December 7th, 2013 How far along: 18 weeks Baby is the size of a: Bell Pepper Total weight gain: I don’t know, I didn’t weigh myself this week. Maternity Clothes? I bought a new maternity sweater this week, but I have lots of room to grow into it! Stretch Marks? Not yet. Sleep? Getting better! Most nights I don’t even have to go to the bathroom anymore! Best moment of the Week: Having our 18 week ultrasound and finding out that our little boy is looking as healthy as can be! Movement: Still waiting. Food Cravings: None. Belly Button in or out: In. Gender: Ultrasound confirmed that we’re still having a boy! :) Symptoms: I’ve been having ligament pains, but nothing too bad. And pregnancy acne (will there ever be a blog post without this as my symptom?).  Anything Making you queasy or Sick? Pasta makes me feel a little sick lately, which is a bummer, because I love pasta! Have you Started to Show ...
