Road Trip Part 1: Michigan

The boys and I took a little roadtrip at the beginning of summer break to cross some states of our list!

We started out by flying to Michigan, to visit our friend Allison.

The best little travelers (as long as they have their iPads obviously).

The weather was so nice when we arrived, and Allison took us to a delicious dinner and ice cream afterwards.

He made some acorn art!

The view from Allison's new house! We hadn't been there, and it was so gorgeous, inside and out.

These might be my new favorite pictures of the boys, I might have to print them and put them in my bedroom!

The next morning we had a great breakfast before exploring the city.

This guy couldn't decide if he wanted breakfast or lunch, so he ordered both. When in Rome...haha.

Finn has been loving claw machines lately, and Allison found this really cool place that was nothing by claw machines. They both had a great time there until we "ran out of money". I can't even tell you how many knick knacks and stuffed animals they won at this place.

Next, we went to the Outdoor Adventure Center. The name was very misleading, since it was all INSIDE!

This bridge was really cool. I had the not so brilliant idea to "scare" the boys and jump on the bridge while they were on it. Five seconds after this picture, my sunglasses fell down and I jumped on them. Unfortunately they broke and were my only prescription sunglasses! Karma? Haha.

He played in this little kitchen forever and it kind of warmed my heart, because it reminded me of all the times we would play kitchen when he was younger and I know my days of him being little and still playing like this are fleeting!

We got some icees in Detroit, before picking up Allison's niece from school.

You can see how the sugar high is progressing here...

We stopped by her mom's house to visit for a bit as well.

These kids acted like they've never seen a sprinkler in their life!

We all went to dinner, it looks like Finn was probably pouting about something...haha.

Followed by more treats!

Michigan in the summer is so beautiful, we all loved it!

We were sad to leave this beautiful place and Allison, but also excited about our next destination...

April phone dump

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. I tried to hold his hand to let him know I was there, and he kept giving me a thumbs up. Reading in bed with them is my favorite. We went to play mini golf, and it was an absolutely shit show. Just look at Finn in the background, he was on fire on this day. That's his "cool face". Not pictured are all the times he melted down because he wasn't "good enough". I really need to stop playing this game with him, because it happens every single time...haha.  Book Club! I wasn't a fan of the book, but it was great getting out and talking about books with other readers. He got into kinetic sand for a few weeks, and I felt like my floors were covered in s...

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

We took some family pictures this fall!
