Caribbean Cruise Day 1: Miami

My ex-mother in law invited the entire family on a Caribbean Cruise in December. I can't say that I wasn't nervous how this was going to go, since I hadn't spent more than three days in Disney with my ex, and while some moments were very hard and frustrating, it was overall a great experience I got to have with my boys.

There were 12 of us total, but this is our little crew ready for take off.

We flew to Miami, and then checked into a hotel for the night before boarding the cruise ship. Finn wrote this little note and left it on my night stand.

Still my cuddle bug!

The next morning we had breakfast at I-hop, and Fox was really enjoying his pancakes. He kept saying how much he loved that we were ALL together.

And then it was time to board the ship for the next week and the boys and I had a lot of fun exploring the ship that first day.

The boys' room set up was so cool, they even had their own TV's in each bed.

"Central Park"

"The board walk" - we spent a lot of time here because they not only had an arcade, but also the ice cream machine that Finn frequented many times a day.

There was even a little playground on the board walk.

My absolute favorite thing about cruising is all the free food, especially with kids. There was no worrying about what I was going to feed them for each meal, there were so many options, and the best part is that I didn't have to cook for an entire week!

We checked out the kids club and I was surprised how fun it was. The kids only spent a few hours in it during the cruise, but enjoyed the activities there.

They blew so much money in the arcade (Pros of vacationing with my ex who paid for it all haha).

The first of many ice cream cones!
More to come!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
