Fox is 11

For Fox's Birthday this year, I surprised him with allowing him to skip school and he was so excited.

He's not really a cake person, so I made him a candy/soda cake instead.

Our first stop was Einstein's bagels (his favorite) and Jamba juice.

We played a game all day where he picked options of different activities between two cards and that's what we did. We brought along all of his birthday presents, and in between activities he got to open one or two gifts. 

He wanted to go see the Minecraft movie again, so that's what we did before picking up Finn from school. I may have fallen asleep during it...!

For dinner he chose his favorite, Texas Roadhouse. 
Notice the book, even when it's his birthday dinner, he won't leave it at home...haha.

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. First day of school

This year, I have a second and a sixth grader! How is he almost filling out this shirt? This is Fox's first year of middle school, and saying that we were both very nervous about is, is an understatement.  A look back through the years... So far, the boys had a pretty good first month. There have been a lot of changes for Fox, but he has been handling them all like a champ.  We are looking forward to some cooler months coming (hopefully) soon, and all the fall things!

August iPhone dump

A few of my favorite moments from August! Meet the teacher for the boys! I received this picture from Katie's wife, such a sweet bond they have. I'm also loving how his pajamas are inside out...haha. Walter came back to spend a few days with us! We watched him last summer, and the boys kept talking about him, so we were all so excited when his mom asked us to watch him for a few days. Notice Finn pouting. He was upset that Walter "only pays attention to Fox". So many big emotions in such a tiny body. Mr. Cool Guy at his dentist check up and teeth cleaning! I was trying to get some work done in my office, but this guy needed some attention. Finn made a bed for them, so they could sleep together. In the end, no one wanted to sleep there, but he was so happy to cuddle with Walter for a bit.
