Illumination

Last weekend, we met up with Katie's parents for dinner and a Christmas Lights Show. 
It was the first year that they had put on this event in Phoenix and we were all excited to check it out.
The line to get in was insane, apparently half of Phoenix had the same idea as us, but we passed the time by listening to Christmas Music in the car.

You drive through their display with your car, they told us to drive 2mph, so we got Fox unbuckled, which he thought was the best thing ever.

Their lights were synchronized to Christmas Music that you had to tune in over your radio and it was truly amazing.



It took us about 30 minutes to go through the entire display and everyone loved it. 





This is definitely something we are planning to do every year, such a great night!

December came and went in a flash! We visited Santa! I started a new job in November as a patient care technician in the Oncology unit at the hospital I'm hoping to get hired by after I graduate. I have heard from many people that this hospital usually hires nurses from within, so I wanted to get my foot in the door, and also gain some more experience before graduating. I was really nervous about handling two 12 hour days per week, on top of school and sharing custody of the kids, and while it hasn't been easy, it has been very rewarding. June iPhone dump

A look back at a very long June! Pool time with friends is always more fun. Mom's night out with these lovely ladies. When your friend has an ice bath, you bribe all the kids to go in! Such a fun morning with this crew! It was seriously so cold, it hurt my skin. The kids went all the way in, I only made it into a sitting position. These two were good friends when they were very little, and I love seeing them reconnecting and having a blast together. The ice bath crew! Marcela and I took the kids to Costco for some shopping and pizza, it was a crazy endeavor. He spends most of his days like this, roaming around the house on his hover board and listening to Harry Potter. The boys and I visited a local dinosaur exhibit, because Finn had been asking for like two years to go back. Ice cream date after swim lessons with our friends. September iPhone dump

A few moments from our September! The last swim play date at the water park with some friends! Brunch with my old classmates! Karate crew! Every other week, I can go visit the kids during their lunch break at school, and I will show up as long as they let me! Fox and his best friend from class. We decorated for Halloween, and this kid was all about it. This was his idea of decorating, and he was not happy when he came home the following day and I had moved his spider into a different spot. He calls this his "Rockstar Pose" We changed Fox's room a little bit, and I was very sad to say goodbye to his space room and rocket bed, but it was time, and he loves his new room. A quick scooter ride to the little library in our neighborhood to exchange books. He cracks me up every day.
