April iPhone dump

Some of my favorite April moments!

Karate with two of my besties (and my sweet sidekick of course).

Fox showed me his finger and asked if it was normal. Ummm, no. Definitely not normal kid! :)

We had a little staycation and the boys loved the community playroom.

This is our favorite milkshake place. We had lunch there, followed by a movie in the theater.

I made some shirts for my friends and I for our upcoming graduation. So excited!

Of course the boys needed some shirts as well.

Fox was so happy that his cousin just plopped down on him like this.

A sweet find in our backyard.

Fox's teacher asked us to write some letters to him for his upcoming state testing. I asked Grandma and Grandpa to write one as well, and they really went over the top with it, I thought this was so sweet.

Almost six years old and still keeps me on my toes every day.

Bunco night at my house, so much fun!

BLS class at work, I'm still terrified about the idea that I will have to perform CPR on a real patient one day.

I ordered myself a new watch band and I absolutely love it.

Finn was very proud to be sitting up there and wanted me to take his picture.

Sweet messages from friends that kept me going through rough days. This semester has been insane and I worked about 80 hours a week between clinicals, work, lab days, lectures, and exams. I was so exhausted.
Grandma and Grandpa watched the boys for me one day while I was at clinical.

We finally got some new couch tables, so Finn converted our old one (that Katie and I purchased in 2009) into a candy shop.

He started basketball classes in April, and he has been doing so well.

He was super proud of the metal he received, and even brought it to show and tell at school.

Fox bought this for me while he was with his grandparents one day. So sweet of him.

Pool season has begun!

Celebratory lunch after an exam!

We had clinical at Phoenix Children's hospital for a few weeks, and our instructor took up up onto the roof and heli pad for a picture. She also showed us the morgue, but no pictures of that!

Such a gorgeous view from the top!

My very LAST day in my school uniform!!!
And that wraps up April!

May iPhone dump

Some of my favorite moments of May that haven't made it on the blog yet. May has been such an incredible month and I wish I could turn back time and do it all over again. Between graduating from nursing school and all the celebrations that came with that, Fox's 10th birthday, Finn's Kindergarten graduation, and all the sweet little moments in between, it was a month I will never forget.  Kindergarten Homework for this cutie, he is very smart, but hates doing it. This was my favorite view at school, right when you exited the building. This was the place where we met up with friends during breaks, and after every exam, and I wanted to take a picture to remember this special place.  Making paper airplanes has been a new favorite for him. This was two days before I took my final exam, and I probably should've been studying, but having an ice cream date with the boys sounded much more fun. He loves to make us laugh. While Finn and I were getting ready for bed, I asked him to

December iPhone dump

December came and went in a flash! We visited Santa! I started a new job in November as a patient care technician in the Oncology unit at the hospital I'm hoping to get hired by after I graduate. I have heard from many people that this hospital usually hires nurses from within, so I wanted to get my foot in the door, and also gain some more experience before graduating. I was really nervous about handling two 12 hour days per week, on top of school and sharing custody of the kids, and while it hasn't been easy, it has been very rewarding. I love the unit I'm on, the patients, the people I work with, and it's a very humbling experience to work in Oncology.  I took a screen shot of my activity after one of my shifts, I usually average between 7.5-9.5 miles per day, just from walking all over the unit.  The boys are playing bar with their cousin at Grandma's house.  We celebrated their cousin's first birthday! S'mores in the backyard. Nikolaus (a german traditi

Graduation Party

My mother in law Rene' and my friend Allison threw me a graduation brunch the day after I got pinned as a nurse. I love this picture of Patrick. My other (ex) mother in law made this incredible cake for me, she is so talented. My sweet friend Mason. We spent our first year in nursing school together, until he decided to go a different route. We still meet up for brunches and he is also my hairdresser, but I still miss seeing him as much as I used to. It meant a lot to me that he came.  I can't even express how loved I felt on this day. I am one lucky girl to be surrounded by so many amazing friends who have been through it all with me. Ten years of friendship this year! Katie and Christina brought the boys and also attended my party, which I really appreciated. Classmates! I was joking that the next time I will receive this many flowers, it'll be my funeral. I also received so many thoughtful and sweet cards and gifts, I was truly spoiled. It was the perfect ending to an em
